Dr. Mrs. Jennifer Ogochukwu Braimah [nee Udekwu] is a public health professional and the President |Chief Executive Officer of Intensive Rescue Foundation International –IRFI, a non-governmental organization incorporated in 2008 with a mandate to bring healthcare interventional information and services to the doorsteps of socially-excluded women, children, people living with disabilities [PWD] and persons displaced [IDPs] from their homes by disasters and conflicts; especially in underserved rural communities in Nigeria.

As an entrepreneur and empathetic humanitarian with a deep passion for vulnerable populations, Dr. Braimah collaborates with the media, local and international development partners to create awareness about preventable diseases, promulgate food fortification for children, mitigate unplanned pregnancies and increase Nigeria’s contraceptive prevalence rate [CPR] through the practice of modern family planning methods, empower young  girls through education, reverse the abysmal infant and maternal mortality ratio in the country through the provision of ante-natal and post-natal services for pregnant and nursing mothers and advocate for the primary prevention of cervical cancer, penile cancer and genital warts through the administration of 2- doses of Human Papilloma Virus [HPV] vaccine which confers 100% immunity on boys and girls between the ages of 9 – 26 years before their sexual debut; thus guarantying a preventable cancer-free generation.

Intensive Rescue Foundation International [IRFI] re-engineered the emerging trend of washable reusable sanitary pads for efficient menstrual hygiene management [MHM]; this flag-ship environmentally friendly and sustainable product was made specifically for young girls and women in order to enable them attend school, skill acquisition centres and workplaces without the monthly anxiety of procuring expensive disposable sanitary materials. IRFI also builds lavatories for schools in rural communities to enhance safety, hygiene and privacy for these young girls and women during their menstrual periods.

Dr. Braimah is the host of ‘Intensive Feminine Health’ on People’s Television – a 30 minute daily talk show dedicated to specific health concerns for women; she is also a panellist on ‘Conversations’ on NTA International, ‘Health Alert’ on Ray Power Radio and ‘Chics Clinic’ on Kiss FM.

Dr. Braimah is a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Medicine & a Bachelor of Surgery [MBBS] degree, she then went on to obtain an MPH [Master of Public Health] from the University of Benin, followed by a Master of Science Degree [MSc] from the University of Liverpool – United Kingdom,  not done with acquiring knowledge, she went on to obtain a DBA [Doctor of Business Administration] from the Swiss Management Centre University, Zug – Switzerland and a PhD [Doctor of Philosophy] from Nicaragua Central University, Managua, Nicaragua – South America. Dr. Braimah is also certified with distinction in Global Family Planning & Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights from Lund University, Paradisgatan – Sweden and certified with honours in Global Perspective on Sexual & Gender Based Violence by the prestigious Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland – United States of America.

Dr. Braimah loves to acquire novel knowledge, learn new languages, power walk and give motivational talks; she is an aspiring author and has written five children’s books to be published soon to the glory of God.

Dr. Braimah is married to Hon. Engr. Abass Braimah, an astute legislator who represented Edo State in the Federal House of Representatives from 2007 – 2011; they are blessed with two brilliant daughters.
